The Fabulous Ginn Sisters: ephiphany & wit

OK, everybody, here we go...it's just us.  The Fabulous Ginn Sisters...on the road.  We've stolen the band and we're taking off without Fred.  He's headed back to the west coast and we're sticking around in Ontario for some gigs of our very own.  We're growing up so fast (tear).

We just left Fred's Picnic in Aylmer, ON and tomorrow we pack back up and head to Toronto.  It was a rainy day ALL DAY Saturday but we still managed to rock some faces...in heels.

So check the friggin' schedule and meet up with us (TL, brit, Luke, Matty, and Kori) in Ontario this week.  Come say hi...and sign up for the nightly wet t-shirt contest. 

All of that is true, but not the west t-shirt contest. 

No idea.  That's what I got.  I was pretty surprised to find that I hadn't written a new entry since July.  And I was even more surprised to find that I didn't really have anything to say anyway.

I'm sitting at the Slice in Lethbridge, AB and baby it's cold outside.  The reason I used "Hola Amigos" for the title of this blog is because for a minute I thought we were at Amigo's in Saskatoon, SK.  But that was 5 days ago.  Ha.

We just finished sound check and I'm sitting at a prime table that some Fredheads desperately want.  Let's see how long they stare me down.  1....2....3....I win!  OK OK I'm giving them the table.  Gonna clean up my coffee mess and get out of here.

Here we are waiting to go on set at The Late Show w/David Letterman.  It was a super fantastic day and we can't wait to watch the show this Friday night, June 18!

It will be a loooong day tomorrow!  We get picked up at the crack of 5:30am and will be taken to the Ed Sullivan Theatre to record for an episode of The David Letterman Show.  The show will air Friday, June 18.  Hurrah!  Hope you'll watch.

On June 18, 2010 The Fred Eaglesmith Traveling Show w/the Fabulous Ginn Sisters will be on The David Letterman Show. We're all on the David Letterman Diet and we look pretty good. I would tell you more, but I have to go try on everything in my closet. Again. June 18!

Right now TL's finishing up the last of the presale orders.   Then we're going to go find a post office!  Yay! 

Hey everybody!  We're stuck in Elizabethtown, KY.  It's a mess outside and there's a 40% chance we will see a tornado.  It's an adventure.

The good news...IF we can get to Nashville in the next few days (roads are closed, streets are flooded) we will pick up boxes and boxes of our brand new cd "You Can't Take A Bad Girl Home".  We'll finally be able to take a bad girl home!  Hurrah.  And if you pre-ordered we'll be sending you your cd soon.

Can you tell I'm excited?  It's because we have new merch!  The shirts came in today and if you come to 31st Annual BritFest you'll have the first chance to get one!  We'll have buttons, postcards, posters, and some surprises I didn't even mention to the rest of the band!  Check out the shirts, modeled by the lovely and talented Caitlin Passalacqua...

 

We are going to miss the last 2 gigs on this tour, but that's ok because we'll all be back on the road in April.  All of us except one appendix.  We're in Glendive, Montana and Bill's in the hospital. He just got rid of his appendix.  Poor poor Bill.  He'll recover and we'll be in Cleveland on April 8, hopefully with a new cd!  Feel better, Bill.

 

 

I had to say goodbye to my Valentine roses today.  Sad face.

But we got to go to the beach, so hurrah.

This is what we did today.  Also, Sola got a haircut.

Well, it's Valentine's Day.  I got roses.  What'd you get?  I'm trying not to get my hopes up for a suprise visit from the LP.  I know it's not going to happen, but I always do this to myself.  Tear.

We have the day off...that means bank, post office, laundry, website, pics for the moms and dads, baths for the baby and the dog....ha.  No.  Really it means poolside margaritas.  And Big Love.

We've been having some great shows out here, and finally some lovely weather.  And thanks to the lady in Newman, CA who gave Sola the dog treat ice cream cookie.  She loved it.

 

 

 

Today we've had the day off in Tucson, Arizona.  After our gig last night we braced ourselves to walk out into the cold...but it wasn't cold.  Flip flops.  I heart it.

Kori got to go to the rock and gem show.  The Blue's on 2 legs sometimes.  Big Love comes on tonight.  Things are pretty happy...the beer and pizza kind of happy.

Maybe we celebrated a little too much and a little too long last night, but we have tomorrow off too.

Bill just told me that our cd just got sent to be mastered and we should have a copy of it in our little hands by the end of the week!

 

 

 

Well we crash boom banged right into an 18-wheeler on I85 in South Carolina and totaled our bus.  Everybody walked away with no injuries and that's the most important thing.  So we packed a bag and hopped in Fred Eaglesmith's van with the band to play the next 3 nights.  They got on a cruise on Sunday and we rented a suburban to take from Florida back to South Carolina to clean out the bus.  Then, when we had squeezed everything in that we could we said a teary goodbye to the CruiseMaster and headed to Texas.  It was a sad, sore, scary weekend but we've come home to heal, eat, and repack before we join back up with Fred and his band for the rest of the tour.

So we finally saw some sunshine today in Drayton Valley, Alberta, which was good for both morale and my fading tan.  I think we've seen rain everyday for the last month...sorry Texas...hope it makes it down there.

Other than the rain and the hail and the cold cold cold it's been a real treat to be here in Canada traveling with the Fred Eaglesmith Band.  You can see one of our shows in Calgary, AB at The Stampede...only the largest rodeo IN THE WORLD!
